China automobile drift championship is a national automobile event jointly approved by the State General Administration of sports and China automobile and motorcycle sports management center. It is sponsored by China automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation (CAMF) and listed in the annual competition plan of the State General Administration of sports. Since 2013, the event has been held in more than ten cities in China, with 15 city stops.

Shangyi station, held in Shangyi comprehensive sports stadium from August 4 to 6, 2017, is the 15th and the second of the 2017 season. In Shangyi station, 11 teams and 35 drifting riders from all over the country participated in the "elite group", "Super Cup" and "China Group". The competition lasted for three days. The first day was the practice match, the second day was the qualifying match, and the third day was the final.
